However, due to its low strength and short service life, it is generally necessary to replace it in three or four weeks.

　　Before sterilizing baby pacifiers, you must rinse the pacifier with warm water. This step is very important, otherwise food residues, saliva, etc. on the pacifier may become a breeding ground for bacteria. Using boiling water to sterilize the pacifier is also an effective method to kill germs, but the disinfection time is not easy to control. It is generally recommended to boil the water for two or three minutes after the water is boiled. If the cooking time is too long, the surface of the pacifier will become more sticky and pores will appear, which will not only speed up the aging of the pacifier, but also easily leave germs in the pores. If the cooking time is too short, although it can prevent pores in the pacifier, it will not completely kill the germs. Note that there is no need to add any disinfectant for boiling water disinfection. Even "pure natural" disinfectant will cause hidden dangers to the baby's health.

　　The use of steam sterilization is currently one of the safest and most effective methods of sterilizing baby pacifiers. Steaming at 95°C-97°C for 12-15 minutes can effectively kill most pathogenic bacteria. At the same time, steam sterilization will not damage the material of the nipple, making the nipple more durable.
